PR Campaign: Livescribe Kick-off Event in Spain

Livescribe, an American manufacturer of smart pens, was arriving to the Spanish market, and chose LF Channel for doing the launch event with the Spanish media.

Challenge

The objective was to present Livescribe and its products to the media in the main cities in Spain: Madrid and Barcelona.

Strategy and Action

LF Channel organized a press conference in each city, and invited newswires, general and financial media (IT journalists), lifestyle magazines, IT and channel media.

The event in Madrid took place at Santiago Bernabeu Press Room and in Barcelona at Arts Hotel. Both places are well known venues, centric and smart.

The events started with a speech of Livescribe Vice-President coming from USA, UK Marketing Manager to explain their experience in UK, and local spokespersons to give details about their aims and local applications. After that there were a show of use and capabilities of the smart pens as powerful working tools. There were some 30 minutes for media questions and, later on, one to one interviews with key journalists.

The Results

Several journalists attended the press conferences in Madrid and Barcelona. There were relevant national media, such as El País newspaper, and lifestyle magazines as EFE, FHM, Gentleman…

LF Channel managed to stir interest in media through the press release and many journalists submitted requests for testing of products.

Shortly after the event, national dailies, online media and blogs were writting about Livescribe, providing the new product with huge visibility.
