Initial situation
The key challenge facing the global automotive industry is how to create an automobile that would be reasonably priced, offer a high degree of comfort and safety, and be environmentally friendly. The Slovene automobile industry – as a full partner to some of the most important international suppliers in this important sector – has an answer.
The goal of the communications network was to enhance the image of the Slovene automobile industry as a whole and as the individual companies that make up the Automotive Cluster of Slovenia: Despite state-of-the-art production technology, a high degree of productivity and quality, price efficiency, close ties with research and development, and its trans-global outlook, its image has failed to attain the level desired by the companies joined in the Automotive Cluster of Slovenia.
The Solution
By organizing the event, we wished to present this branch of the Slovene economy to the general public and decision makers in the public sphere as a vital industrial sector that is a driver of development, a motor of innovation, and an important, stable part of the economy with interesting long-term prospects.
By organizing a press conference at which the speakers were the directors of the most important representatives of this sector of the economy, we wished to present contents in a direct, upfront manner. At the same time, the directors did not present their companies and partial interests, but the project and its goals and challenges as a whole.
With the goal of offering a quality overview of the wide range of fields in which the Slovene automotive industry plays an important role, we also prepared an exhibit of over 30 innovative products divided into two categories – ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT and SAFETY AND COMFORT. Through the exhibit, we wished to present the story of the press conference in a concrete, tangible form and to provide additional information through visualizations.
Alongside these activities, we’ve been actively working on direct relations with the media with the aim of establishing a permanent space for the process of green mobility and broader social changes and trends related to it among the general public and in the public sphere.
The Results
Through a single event, we proved that there exists in the media an interest for information of this kind and that positive stories pertaining to economic development are very welcome.
The structure of the media at the press conference and the number of reports that followed it exceeded all expectations. The event was attended by 15 representatives of the media, most of whom covered the economy, and not just the automotive field, which was something the client was not used to. All reports in the media were notably favorable to the project of connecting the Slovene automotive industry and its association to the sphere of knowledge with the goal of achieving an ever greater number of breakthrough innovations.
